It is presented in the style of late 19th century Victorian music hall, where sport and theatre were not separated in the way they are today. Many of the disciplines showcased have been historically overlooked, marginalised, or misunderstood, too often dismissed as low-brow, melodramatic and popular by the theatrical establishment.

Unruly Music Hall Sport embraces the “unruliness” of these highly embodied
practices, finding in them a source of radical participation and political resistance around ideas of gender, sexuality, identity, and diversity.
